| How
Heatsaver works
In non-technical terms Heatsaver is a mixture of carefully
chosen ingredients which are lighter than water and which
automatically float to the surface. The particles of the liquid
are attracted to each other so that they always try to form
a perfect very thin layer over the whole pool surface. They
are individually so small that they are 500 times smaller
than the spaces in a super high quality filter.
Unlike a conventional pool cover which has to be removed from
the pool for swimming, Heatsaver breaks apart whenever the
water is sufficiently disturbed but the monolayer reforms
whenever the water becomes calmer. Consequently Heatsaver
adjusts perfectly to changing activity levels in the pool
throughout the day. A variable and flexible cover that automatically
works whenever and wherever the pool surface is not too disturbed.
Since evaporation accounts for between 70 to 90% of pool water
heat loss Heatsaver significantly reduces the energy required
to heat the water.
The main benefit though on indoor pools is that Heatsaver
can significantly reduce the cost of dehumidifying the air
and by enabling a reduced air temperature at night (typically
by 6 Deg C), the cost of heating the air will reduce. Energy
authorities state that a 1 Deg C drop in air temperature can
represent an 8% reduction in energy use.
